Summary

Early Season Comment

Its that time of the year again! Danger rating will vary throughout the day with warming, freezing levels and solar inputs. Solar aspects crusts will break down much faster with solar input.

Early Season Message

The avalanche danger is variable and can range from Low to High. Travelling early in the day is recommended, as conditions can change rapidly in short periods of time due to daytime warming. Pay careful attention to the integrity of the surface crusts formed overnight and rising air temperatures during the day. Dry slab avalanche danger may also exist during spring snow storms. Field Observations for your area may be available at the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) Mountain Conditions Report Website: http://www.mountainconditions.com. Weather Forecast

A series of storms are pushing through our region over the next week. Precipitation amounts are coming in the way of snow & rain. Freezing levels are a moving target depending on the day. Time to really look at the weather forecast and assess throughout the day. Wind slabs and storm slabs are still possible along with sluffing out of steep terrain where fresh snow sits on old crusts formed by sun or temprature
