Weather Forecast
A series of low pressure systems are stacking up in the Pacific, reminding us that winter is approaching. The next week may see upwards of 50+cm of snow fall at Tree-line elevations, with freezing levels hovering around 1500m.
Avalanche Summary
No avalanches have been observed/reported as of this writing. It is likely that point-release, loose/dry sluffing can occur on steep/extreme terrain in the high Alpine.
Snowpack Summary
The Rogers Pass region just started receiving snow as of Oct 22. We are well-below avalanche threshold values at all elevation bands (~40cm at ridgeline, Oct 24), which means there are more rocks, logs, and boulders in the snowpack than snowflakes. Isolated pockets of wind slabs are likely in steep/extreme high Alpine regions.
