Regions: Waterton Lakes.

We received 15-20cm of new snow overnight. Winds are now picking up and building this into wind slabs on north and east aspects. Wind loaded slopes should be treated with caution until they get a chance to settle out.

Avalanche Problems

Wind Slabs

Storm snow of 15-20 now starting to be transported by strong westerly winds. Below this could be surface hoar in sheltered locations or thin temperature crust on south aspects. Potential avalanches might not be big but enough to knock you over.

Aspects: North, North East, East, South East.

Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.

Likelihood: Unlikely - Possible

Expected Size: 1 - 2
