Cooler temps have tightened up the snowpack. Surface hoar from mid-December, buried 40-60cms, can be found in isolated sheltered locations on N and E aspects, but is testing in the hard range. No recent natural avalanches observed. LP snow 89cms.

Avalanche Problems

Storm Slabs

Windslabs may be found on north and east facing terrain, and other lee features which may be crossloaded by westerly winds. Very warm temperatures followed by cooling has settled in these slabs. Large loads are probably needed to trigger.

Aspects: North, North East, East, South East.

Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.

Likelihood: Possible
