Weather Forecast
A trace of new snow over the next few days with temperatures warming up to more seasonal values. Winds will continue to be light out of the SW at most elevations. Gusty towards alpine terrain.Â
Avalanche Summary
No new avalanche activity was observed during a road patrol throughout the region on Thursday.
Snowpack Summary
Still Very limited observations. Ski quality is pretty rugged at all elevations and almost hiking at the lower elevations! The big thing to be aware about these days is the "Halloween Crust" which is being found up to 23-2400m in the forecast area. Windslabs overlying this crust are our main concern at this time especially on N and E aspects in Alpine terrain. Pockets of windslabs may also be found along ice climbs so use caution between pitches along routes.
