Storm Slabs

45 cm of storm snow over two days and mild temperatures have created widespread slab conditions and avalanche danger has risen to high levels. Several size 3 avalanches were observed this morning.

Wind Slabs

Intense south wind yesterday has formed wind slab on lee aspects. This now overlies weaker snow from early in the storm cycle. This wind event triggered a moderate avalanche cycle late yesterday.

Aspects: North, North East, East, South East.

Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.

Likelihood: Possible - Likely
