Snowpack Summary
An upslope storm gave us 5-25cm of snow depending on areas over the past 24hrs. The majority of the snow fell on the eastern side of the park with the Spray/Smith dorrien area seeing less. This snow fell under generally light NW winds so wind slab development has been minimal. In alpine areas previous windslabs are now slightly buried under the recent snow so keep and eye out for these along ridge crests and cross loaded features. The new snow is also running far and fast as loose dry slides. As more snow falls the basal crusts will continue to develop into a deep persistent layer.Â
