Regions: Little Yoho.

Expect small wind-slabs in the high alpine on lee features. Otherwise conditions are quite good.

Also, we expect a "Cold and Snowy scenario" until the end of the week.

Weather Forecast

Cold temperatures will persist over the next three days with valleys below freezing and as cold as -20 at ridge-line. Winds aloft will be coming from the North East in the moderate range. No snow is expected over the next 3 days with a mix of sun and cloud.

Snowpack Summary

10-30 cm of soft, dry snow sits on a firm crust on N aspects. On solar aspects expect a variety of breakable crust and firm crusts that carry the weight of a skier, boarder or walker. Within the snowpack, a series of crusts exist at all elevations. Ski crampons are advisable.

Avalanche Summary

A few loose dry avalanches were observed coming out of extreme terrain on Howse Peak today. Lots of powder cloud and very little substance or debris. Otherwise no avalanches were observed or reported on Monday.

Confidence

Freezing levels are uncertain on Wednesday
