Regions: Glacier.

Periods of light snow flurries with light northerly wind are forecast over the next several days. Fast moving loose sluffs may be triggered from steep terrain. Natural avalanche activity has diminished. Be aware of glide crack releases.

Avalanche Problems

Wind Slabs

Isolated wind slabs exist in the immediate leeward areas on ridge crests but are stubborn to trigger.

Aspects: All aspects.

Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.

Likelihood: Unlikely - Possible

Expected Size: 1 - 3

Deep Persistent Slabs

A persistent weak layer near the bottom of the snowpack contributed to several large avalanches last week. These avalanches are most likely to be triggered from shallow rocky areas. Also, glide crack releases may result in large deep slab avalanches.

Aspects: All aspects.

Elevations: Alpine.

Likelihood: Unlikely - Possible

Expected Size: 2 - 4
