The alpine rating is considerable, the treeline rating is considerable, and the below treeline rating is considerable. Known problems include Loose Wet, Wet Slabs and Cornices.

A minimal freeze overnight will breakdown quickly with warm temperatures and rain at lower elevations, resulting in avalanches. Recent glide crack failures due to warm temperatures have caused very large avalanches.

Summary

Problems

Loose Wet

An icon showing Loose Wet
Freezing temperatures at higher elevations last night, but daytime warming today will cause avalanches. Rain today below tree line will intensify loose snow avalanche activity. Use extra caution below rock outcrops and solar aspects.

Aspects: All aspects.

Elevations: All elevations.

Likelihood

Very Likely

Expected Size

1 - 3

Wet Slabs

An icon showing Wet Slabs
Wet and dry slabs have been observed on all aspects. Several buried crusts in the upper snowpack are providing failure planes for these avalanches. Daytime warming, rain and solar exposure will increase the likelihood of triggering these slabs.

Aspects: North, North East, East, South East, South, South West.

Elevations: All elevations.

Likelihood

Likely

Expected Size

2 - 3

Cornices

An icon showing Cornices
Cornices are massive, drooping, and beginning to fail. There is good potential for cornice falls to produce large avalanches that run to the bottom of runout zones.

Aspects: All aspects.

Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.

Likelihood

Unlikely - Possible

Expected Size

2 - 4
