Rain has weakened the snowpack below ~2000m. Freezing levels dropped forming a crust. Rain has been triggering avalanches that gain mass on steep terrain running to below treeline. Expect avalanche activity to increase during periods of rain.

Snow started falling at Mt Fidelity on Oct 16. Since then the station has received 145cm of snow which has settled to an HS of 70cm. If you manage to get above freezing level (~2100m?) watch for storm snow and windslab instabilites.
