Avalanche Activity

The snowpack will be generally stable. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep shady slopes.

The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust. There is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. It is advisable to bring a snow knife and crampon with you for the steeper sections. Avalanches can be released in the old snowpack in very isolated cases. This applies in particular in case of a large load. The avalanche prone locations are rather rare.

Snowpack Structure

In particular adjacent to ridgelines snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Individual weak layers exist in the top section of the snowpack on shady slopes. Low and intermediate altitudes and sunny slopes: The conditions are spring-like. The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust will soften later than the day before. In all regions as well as in all altitude zones less snow than usual is lying.

Tendency

Along the border with France and along the border with Switzerland a little new snow above approximately 1800 m. The avalanche danger will persist.
