Avalanche Activity

Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls.

Some snow fell on Sunday. Since Sunday the wind has been moderate to strong. In some localities small wind slabs formed. The more recent wind slabs are to be found especially in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Wind slabs are lying on a hard crust. There is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

The new snow is lying on a crust. In particular at elevated altitudes snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. At low and intermediate altitudes only a little snow is lying.

Tendency

Strong northwesterly wind: The avalanche danger will persist.
