Wind slab
- Above 1,800 m
The wind slabs of the last few days represent the main danger. In many places there is a danger of falling on the hard crust.
The wind slabs of the last few days represent the main danger. In many places there is a danger of falling on the hard crust.
The wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence and generally at elevated altitudes. This applies in particular in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation. In all aspects small and medium-sized avalanches are possible. Avalanches can be released, in particular by large loads.
As a consequence of falling temperatures a crust formed on the surface during the last few days. Individual weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on shady slopes.
Intensive precipitation. Increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of the precipitation.
