Snowpack Structure

Over a wide area in some localities up to 60 cm of snow has fallen since Friday above approximately 1900 m. The new snow of the last few days is very loosely bonded in particular on shady slopes above approximately 2100 m.

Avalanche Activity

The new snow of the last few days must be evaluated with care and prudence.

The new snow of the last three days represents the main danger. The danger of wet and gliding avalanches will increase during the day. Below approximately 2200 m small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible. The new snow of the weekend can be released by a single winter sport participant in some cases in all aspects at high altitude. The new snow of the last few days is very loosely bonded in particular on shady slopes above approximately 2000 m.
