Avalanche Summary

Late last week small isolated loose dry avalanches were observed from steep alpine terrain, no new avalanches have been observed since Friday.

If you witness avalanches on your backcountry tour, please submit a MIN with your observations.

Snowpack Summary

Expect a weak surface crust on steep terrain facing the sun.

The height of snow at treeline is approx. 80cm, which is 40cm below average. Many rocks/trees lurking at and just below the snow surface.

The base of the snowpack consists of weak, sugary facets.

Tonight: Cloudy with clear periods, light SW ridge winds, low -8°C with alpine temp inversion.

Mon: Cloudy with sunny periods, light SW winds, low -5°C, high -2°C, fzl level 1100m.

Tues: Mix of sun and cloud, light SW winds, low -7°C, high -4°C, fzl 1300m.

Wed: Cloudy with sunny periods, light winds, low -15°C, high -8°C, fzl at valley bottom.
