Loose Wet

Warm air and sun will moisten the snow surface. If clear skies prevail, natural loose wet avalanches may occur in steep terrain on southerly aspects. The warming may make the snow surface reactive to human traffic on all aspects.

Watch for clues that the snowpack is warming up, like moist snow or sluffing off of cliffs.Use caution in gullies and above cliffs where small avalanches may have severe consequences.Avoid travelling near or under cornices, as they will become weak with the warming.
