A lot of new snow above approximately 2000 m. Avalanches can be released very easily and reach dangerously large size. This applies in particular above approximately 2000 m. From high-altitude starting zones the avalanches can as before reach low altitudes. Below approximately 2400 m moist and wet avalanches are possible. Moist avalanches can penetrate even deep layers. The conditions are very dangerous for backcountry touring and snowshoe hiking.
Over a wide area 70 to 90 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last three days above approximately 2000 m. A lot of new snow in the high Alpine regions. The sleet gave rise to a loss of strength within the snowpack over a wide area in particular at low and intermediate altitudes. As a consequence of new snow and wind, sometimes large wind slabs formed in particular at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions.
