Saturday: Afternoon: In some localities 10 to 20 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 1800 m, especially along the border with France. The wind will be moderate. Fresh wind slabs will form especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. The new snow and wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant. Caution is to be exercised at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, especially on very steep slopes. In high Alpine regions these avalanche prone locations are more prevalent and the danger is greater. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls.

5 to 15 cm of snow, and up to 20 cm in some localities, fell during the night above approximately 2200 m. In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2200 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2500 m a little snow is lying. The snowpack is not distinctly layered. Shady slopes: The snowpack consists of faceted crystals and has faceted crystals on the surface. Below approximately 2300 m: As a consequence of rain a crust formed on the surface.

The avalanche danger will persist. The wind slabs are covered with new snow and therefore difficult to recognise.
