Forecast Snow Stability: Localised areas of unstable windslab will be present mainly on North through East to South aspects above 700 metres. Fragile cornices will be found above these aspects. Other aspects above 700 metres will be scoured. At lower elevations the snow will be soft with good stability. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Occasional snow showers, mostly overnight. Moderate to fresh South to South-Westerly winds. The freezing level will rise during the day to around 500 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Today there were occasional snow showers and moderate North-North-westerly winds. The freezing level was around 400 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Localised areas of moderately bonded windslab is present in wind sheltered locations mainly on North-East through East to South aspects above 700 metres. Fragile cornices are present above these aspects. Other aspects above 700 metres are generally scoured. At lower elevations on all aspects the snow is soft and unconsolidated with good stability. The avalanche hazard is Low.
