Forecast Snow Stability: Accumulations of moderately bonded windslab will build during the afternoon, on steep sheltered terrain, most notably in high locations, generally above 750 metres, on North-East to South-East aspects. The new snow will mostly be overlying bare ground and windward aspects will be scoured. The limited existing snow will refreeze and be well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight rain at all levels will ease by daybreak ahead of further precipitation late morning with moderate accumulations of snow through the afternoon as the freezing level plummets from 1400 to 500 metres by the end of the period. The fresh South-West airflow will gradually strengthen to gale force by early afternoon, quickly moderating and veering West thereafter. Observed Weather Influences: Periods of light rain and drizzle with persistent hill fog throughout the day. It remained mild with the freezing level well above the highest summits. There was a strengthening fresh South-West wind. ObservedSnowStability: Thawing remnants of the recent dusting of new snow persist in high locations, mainly on North-East to South-East aspects. Lingering patches and strips of old snow also continue to slowly thaw and are well bonded and stable throughout. The avalanche hazard is Low.
