Forecast Snow Stability: New snow amounts are not expected to be significant. Any deeper accumulations are likely to be on steep wind sheltered North-East and East aspects above 700 metres, but will generally be avoidable. Otherwise, the patchy old snowpack will be firm, well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers will peter out overnight, but build again through the morning, becoming more frequent over the coastal mountains. The fresh Northerly wind will moderate and back South-West by dawn, returning North-Westerly later. The freezing level will lower to 300 metres overnight, rising to 600 metres in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: A morning of sunny periods and scattered light snow showers which became more frequent and intensified in the afternoon, drifting in on a moderate Northerly wind. The freezing level was around 450 metres in the morning. ObservedSnowStability: There is a light dusting of new snow on all aspects, mainly above 500 metres. This does not affect the overall stability of the existing patchy snowpack which remains firm, well bonded and stable throughout. The avalanche hazard is Low.
