Forecast Snow Stability: Little change; the generally shallow most recent snow cover will have good stability throughout, slowly thawing at lower elevations, refreezing with a surface crust at summit levels. Previously wind exposed terrain will remain scoured and areas of exposed old snow will be firm. No snow below 600 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: It will be largely dry and cloudy, but much brighter in the afternoon. The wind will be light and variable, generally South to South-West during the day and the freezing level will fluctuate around 800 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with summit cloud lifting by midday. Moderate Southerly wind. Freezing level at or just above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is generally shallow, scoured in places, slowly thawing below summit level and is stable throughout. Exposed areas of old snow remain firm. There is no snow below 600 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
