Forecast Snow Stability: The patchy snow will continue to thaw but remain generally well bonded and stable. Cornice collapse, falling rock and ice will remain a potential hazard around steep terrain. Snow cover will be greatest on higher plateau areas and in North to East facing corries above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will remain above the summits. Expected to be cloudy but dry. Fresh winds, South backing to become South-East in direction by the end of afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Mild today with the freezing level above the summits. Cloud base around 700 metres but no new precipitation. ObservedSnowStability: The patchy snow cover has soft surface layers but remains well bonded and stable. Cornice collapse remains a hazard. The avalanche hazard is Low.
