Highlights

Moist and wet avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation.

Avalanche Activity

Moist and wet avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation.

The high temperatures from the late morning will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack at intermediate and high altitudes. These conditions will bring about a gradual weakening of the snowpack as the day progresses. Above approximately 2300 m mostly small moist and wet avalanches are possible. Backcountry tours should be concluded before midday.

Snowpack Structure

The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust and will soften during the day. On sunny slopes as well as at low and intermediate altitudes hardly any snow is lying. Here from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
