Winter has started in Waterton Lakes with snow in the forecast for the starting week of November. Expect significant cooling by the second week of November. Travel on skis is not yet possible.
No new avalanches have been observed or reported.
The snowpack is only just beginning to accumulate and has melted in many areas. Expect accumulation to continue over the coming week with pockets of deeper, wind drifted snow at the higher elevations.
Winter has arrived with continued snow accumulation forecast for the next ten days, including a significant temperature drop starting on Saturday, November 5.
