Chic-Choc Mountains.
The best way to enjoy the mountain at the moment is with hiking crampons. Snow cover is minimal and crust is widespread. Perfect weather to enjoy family and holiday festivities.
Merry Christmas to all!
Early season, observations are limited. Thanks for sharing your observation through the Mountain Information Network if you head out.
No new avalanches have been observed or reported. Please share your observations at [email protected] or via the Mountain Information Network.
The cold temperatures continue to solidify the ice cake. The height of the snowpack varies between 0 and 35 cm at around 600m altitude. At and below treeline, there are several areas that are now uncovered, and there is no longer enough snow to produce avalanches at these elevations. In the alpine, depressions and concavities retain a certain amount of snow.
