Avalanche Summary

Most slopes are safe from avalanches. The few areas where you might be able to trigger a small avalanche are where you find stiff, thin slabs of wind-drifted snow resting on top of weak, cohesionless snow on north-facing slopes. If you encounter this setup, consider avoiding steep slopes above dangerous terrain traps, such as a creek or cliff.

A warm storm is expected to impact the region starting Thursday. You can expect avalanche conditions to be more dangerous on Friday, possibly sooner if the storm arrives earlier than expected.
