Avalanche conditions are dangerous. Recent strong westerly winds built thick slabs of snow far below ridges and in gullies. On north to east through south-facing slopes, drifts are resting on collapsible weak layers near the ground. Reports of remotely-triggered avalanches are coming in to the CAIC. Avoid traveling on or under dangerous slopes. Be careful around, and consider avoiding any steep slope where there is drifted snow or storm totals exceed 12 inches.
