Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche on northwest through north to east-facing slopes near and above treeline. The chances of triggering one of these avalanches are decreasing, but if you find the right steep slope with a cohesive slab resting on weak snow near the ground, you can still trigger an avalanche that could grow large enough to bury you. To dramatically decrease your chances of triggering an avalanche simply avoid slopes much steeper than 30 degrees on these aspects of concern. If you choose to travel on steep slopes here, stick to slopes where your feet or skis sink well past your ankle as there is less likely to be a slab here as the entire snowpack is weak and cohesionless.
