Most slopes are safe on Sunday due to a lack of snow. You might be able to trigger a small, relatively harmless avalanche on wind-drifted snow just below ridgelines or in high-elevation couloirs. Pay attention to any dangerous terrain beneath you if you find a wind-drifted slope where the snow feels firm, and you see cracking around your feet. Even a small avalanche can be dangerous if it drags you across rocks or off a cliff.

You can expect the avalanche danger to increase by Monday with the arrival of an incoming storm.
