Avalanche Summary

Most slopes are safe from avalanches, as the recent snowfall accumulated on mostly bare ground. If you were to trigger a small avalanche, it would be in wind-drifted snow below ridgelines and along gullies in the alpine. Evaluate and avoid areas where drifts are deeper or stiffer. Even a small slide can be dangerous if it carries you over rocks or stumps.
