Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche in rocky, cliffy terrain as water reaches buried weak layers near the ground. If your feet sink deep into wet snow or you notice natural loose avalanches or rollerballs around cliffs, rocks, or trees avoid traveling on slopes much steeper than about 30 degrees to reduce your chances of being caught in a wet avalanche.
