Avalanche Summary

This is a tricky and dangerous period. Although avalanches are becoming less frequent, the consequences of triggering a slide are massive. Slopes that cleaned out earlier in the season and have reformed a dense slab might be the easiest to trigger, but any slope over around 35 degrees should be treated with caution. Wind-drifted faces below ridges or concave gullies have produced significant avalanches recently and should be on your list of places to avoid. There are plenty of safer options on lower-angle slopes in wind-sheltered terrain.
