Avalanche Summary

Avalanche conditions are dangerous. You can easily trigger an avalanche in the new snow large enough to bury you. Some avalanches will break deeper in the snowpack and they could propagate across entire terrain features. You could trigger an avalanche from a distance or below. Drifted easterly-facing slopes are the most dangerous, but you can trigger an avalanche on most slopes and at all elevations. Cracking in the new snow and audible collapses are signals to avoid slopes steeper than about 30 degrees.
