Snowpack Summary
The snowpack is generally well settled and strong. Successive melt-freeze cycles have produced crusts on all aspects at lower elevations as well as on south-facing slopes higher up. Shaded aspects in the alpine are a mix of settled powder and old windslabs. Weak surface hoar crystals sit on the crusts to treeline and in sheltered areas in the alpine and is now covered by light amounts of recently fallen snow. This slowly evolving upper snow pack structure will be the big thing to watch as the overlying slab develops.
