Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE in steep wind loaded avalanche prone areas which are underlain by old layers of weak faceted October snow. In these areas dense slabs up to two feet in depth could be triggered by riders or skiers. As these slabs become more stable riders or skiers may get further onto these slabs or cross multiple times before they are triggered. Avalanches are unlikely in areas not underlain by a basal layer of weak faceted October snow.
