Highlights
This morning at mid and high elevations pockets of slab up to three feet in depth exist on steep avalanche terrain. These slabs could be triggered on wind loaded slopes particularly near cliff and rocky areas. Expected heavy snowfall and strong varying winds this afternoon will increase the hazard at the upper elevations as new soft slabs are formed in avalanche started zones. These slabs will be sensitive to backcountry users and if triggered could pull out the recent slabs to three feet. At the low elevations avalanches are unlikely today except in isolated pockets as this afternoons snowfall occurrs.
