Avalanche Summary

Avalanche conditions are dangerous. Strong winds on Wednesday night and additional snowfall formed drifted slabs of snow on leeward slopes. You might trigger small slides in the newest snow, but the bigger concern is avalanches breaking on weak layers buried 1 to 3 feet deep by successive storms.

Avoid steep slopes where you see bulbous pillows of recently drifted snow, or observe shooting cracks in the snow. More snow on Friday keeps the danger elevated.
