The overall danger is LOW and human-triggered avalanches are unlikely. Small avalanches remain possible in isolated areas or extreme terrain.

As the heatwave continues, be on the lookout for loose wet avalanches. Pay attention to the snow surface and avoid steep slopes that are becoming wet and sloppy.

The beating continues. Look for sunny, windy, and warm conditions again today. A passing cold front tonight will bring clouds, a slight chance for a flake or two, and mercifully, a return to normal temperatures. An active but somewhat disorganized pattern shift is on tap for next week. Details remain scant.

General Conditions

Almost a week of strong southerly winds and warm temperatures have really taken a toll on what was already a meager snowpack and conditions are pretty dire. Temperatures will once again climb up to near 40° F and while the threat is low, skiers and riders should continue to watch for signs of wet loose activity on solar aspects. Roller balls, pinwheels, and wet sloppy snow are all signs that the snow surface is too warm and it's time to change aspect.
