South Coast.
The snow pack is still very thin, with early season hazards lurking just out of sight.
Friday Night: Clear, light to moderate southeast winds, alpine temperature -6 C.
Saturday: Mix of sun and cloud, light to moderate southeast winds, alpine high +1 C, freezing level 1000 m.
Sunday: Increasing cloud, moderate southeast winds, alpine high +1 C, freezing level 1000 m.
Monday: Cloudy with sunny periods, wind increasing to strong from the west, alpine high +3 C, freezing level 1200 m.
We haven't received any reports of recent avalanche activity. Most of the region has very thin snow cover. If you venture out into the field, please consider sharing that information on the Mountain Information Network (MIN).
The south coast ranges have yet to form a snow pack in all but the highest reaches of the alpine. Where snow cover exists, it is likely to be cemented in place by a thick melt-freeze crust.
