Forecast Snow Stability: Localised areas of windslab will be present mainly on steep South-West, West and North-West aspects above 1000 metres. Main high Easterly aspects will be scoured of fresh snow. A shallow cover of snow will be present in other locations. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be mainly dry and cold with the freezing level rising to around 400 metres by the end of Thursday. Mainly light summit winds. Observed Weather Influences: After a light overnight snowfall, it has been a dry and cold day with moderate Easterly winds over the summits. ObservedSnowStability: Localised areas of windslab are present mainly on South-West, West and North-West aspects above 1000 metres. Many Easterly aspects have been scoured in the recent winds, especially at higher elevations. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
