Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and at transitions into gullies and bowls. Older wind slabs are mostly small and can be released in isolated cases.

Little snow fell in the last few days. The small quantity of fresh snow and the mostly small wind slabs are lying on top of a quite favourable old snowpack. The old snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as in high Alpine regions the amount of snow is subject to significant local variations.
