Wind slabs can in some places be released by a single winter sport participant. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and in places that are protected from the wind the avalanche danger is a little higher. Below the tree line the avalanche prone locations are more rare and the danger is lower. Some new snow to low altitudes. The avalanche danger will persist.

In the vicinity of peaks the wind slabs have increased in size moderately. In some places wind slabs are lying on old snow containing large grains. Faceted weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions. Towards its surface, the snowpack is fairly homogeneous and its surface has a melt-freeze crust, in particular on shady slopes.
