Forecast Snow Stability: The limited snowpack which mainly exists in the higher Northerly and Easterly corries will start to firm up as cooler conditions return. There will be generally good stability throughout. The surface of the snow cover will be firm on some exposed slopes particularly at higher levels. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: There will be a return to cooler conditions with the day time freezing levels of around 1000 metres. Mainly dry conditions will continue and winds will initially be Easterly, fresh becoming moderate later in the day. Observed Weather Influences: It has been mainly dry and mild with moderate to fresh Easterly winds. Summit temperatures today were in the region of 2 to 4 degrees centigrade. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack which is mainly in the higher Northerly and Easterly corries is moist with generally good stability. The avalanche hazard is Low.
