Avalanche Activity

Slab avalanches are still possible.

As a consequence of a moderate to strong wind from northwesterly directions, mostly small wind slabs formed in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls as well as in high Alpine regions. The fresh wind slabs can be released by large loads in particular.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of the moderate wind, snow drift accumulations formed. This applies in particular at elevated altitudes. The fresh wind slabs are lying on a crust in particular on shady slopes above approximately 2400 m. In particular on sunny slopes below approximately 2400 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying.
