Avalanche Problems
Loose Dry
Expect fast sluffing in steep terrain below treeline with approximately 5cm of new snow on large surface hoar crystals.
Aspects: All aspects.
Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.
Likelihood: Likely
Expected Size: 1 - 2
Deep Persistent Slabs
A persistent weak layer near the bottom of the snowpack contributed to several large avalanches last week. These avalanches are most likely to be triggered from shallow rocky areas. Also, glide crack releases may result in large deep slab avalanches.
Aspects: All aspects.
Elevations: Alpine.
Likelihood: Unlikely - Possible
Expected Size: 2 - 4
