Avalanche Activity

New snow and wind slabs in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls.

Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and on wind-loaded slopes dry slab avalanches are possible, but they will be mostly small. Avalanches can be released, mostly by large loads.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack remains subject to considerable local variations. The strong wind has transported a lot of snow. Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls sometimes deep wind slabs formed. In some places wind slabs are lying on a moist old snowpack. The wind will transport the fresh and old snow. Some fresh snow and the wind slabs that are forming adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls represent the main danger.
