Avalanche Discussion
Exercise normal caution in the backcountry. Generally safe avalanche conditions exist. You might find unstable snow in extreme or isolated leeward terrain where wind has deposited snow.
The rime ice caked to cliff bands may begin to dislodge in the coming days as temperatures increase. Pay attention to what is overhead and wear your helmet if climing underneath. Falling ice chunks have the same effect as falling rocks.
When visiting your recreational areas, please have respect for your fellow travelers - pick up your trash; clean your campfire ash; be on target in the bathrooms. It's likely that the next person in line loves this place as much as you do. Mount Shasta is a special place. Keep it pro out there.
