The avalanche danger is Low today. The snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. Below 8,500 there is not enough snow cover to warrant a danger rating. Early season hazards such as buried rocks and vegetation are prevalent at all elevations and could result in injury.

Accumulation looks to be in the 2-4” range with the possibility for higher amounts due to the showery nature of this pattern. Isolated showers will continue during the day tomorrow with an additional trace to 1” in most locations. A cold front will usher in cooler temperatures, with overnight lows at 10,000’ in the high teens and dipping into the single digits by the end of the day tomorrow. Winds will be out of the west at 20 mph overnight and slow to the teens by the daylight hours tomorrow.This next round of precipitation will not stack up enough to change the overall avalanche danger. The downward trend of both wind speeds and temperatures during the day tomorrow will also help to minimize any potential new stress on the snowpack. The avalanche danger is expected to remain Low tomorrow.
